Talesmith Lions Roar in Cannes

Directed by the late Kenny Scott and Wael Dabbous, the series asks difficult questions about the state of lion conservation in Africa and India and delves into the trophy hunting debate by unpacking the fate of ‘Cecil the Lion’, a scientifically tagged alpha male shot dead by trophy hunter dentist Walter Palmer.

The series was executive produced by Sunita Uchil and Martin Williams.

Lions: Now or Never, the Talesmith documentary series made in partnership with Zee+, has picked up the title of ‘Best Environmental Film’ at the World Film Festival in Cannes.
